Account Registration & Responsibilities
To use HonestIQ services:
- You must provide accurate, current information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You agree not to impersonate others or use the platform for unauthorized or unlawful purposes.
Use of the Platform
You agree to use HonestIQ:
- Only for educational and academic purposes.
- In compliance with all local, state, and national laws.
- Without engaging in misuse, reverse engineering, or interference with the platform’s functionality.
HonestIQ may suspend or terminate access if misuse or violations occur.
Content & Data Ownership
a. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., assignments, messages). By submitting content, you grant HonestIQ a limited, non-exclusive license to process it for educational and integrity purposes.
b. Institutional Data
Institutions own their academic and user data. HonestIQ processes this data solely to deliver services and insights.
c. Platform Content
All HonestIQ-generated materials (AI reports, software, features, branding) are the intellectual property of HonestIQ and may not be reused without permission.
AI and Plagiarism Tools
HonestIQ uses AI-based tools to:
- Detect potential plagiarism
- Identify AI-generated content
- Support grading and feedback
These tools are assistive—not final. Instructors and institutions are responsible for interpreting and acting on the results.
Privacy and Security
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
Communication
By creating an account, you consent to receive important communications via email, SMS, or through the platform regarding your use of HonestIQ. You may adjust your notification preferences in your profile settings.
Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Submit harmful or malicious content
- Attempt to bypass or disable platform security
- Upload content you do not have the right to share
- Interfere with the platform’s normal operation or attempt to access another user’s account
Termination
HonestIQ reserves the right to:
- Suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms
- Delete content in violation of our academic integrity policies
- Deactivate inactive accounts after a defined period (with prior notice)

Modifications to Services
We may update or modify features at any time for technical, legal, or academic reasons. Where changes are material, we’ll notify users through the platform or email.
Limitation of Liability
HonestIQ is provided “as is.” While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we are not liable for:
- Errors in AI analysis or plagiarism detection
- Actions taken by institutions based on platform outputs
- Loss of data due to user error or third-party access
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
